These are the terms for using AI Frnd, the voice assistant for Android. By installing it and signing in, you agree to them.

What the service is

An app that listens for a wake word and then carries out spoken commands — calls, notes, appointments, photos, reading the screen aloud and so on. It recognises speech on the phone itself, so most of it keeps working without a connection. A subscription is required to use it.

Your account

• You sign in with your own phone number and a code we send by SMS, then choose a four-digit PIN.
• The PIN is a convenience lock, not a password. It is four digits; treat it accordingly.
• Keep your phone and your PIN to yourself. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
• One account is meant for one person. We may suspend an account being shared or resold.

Paying for it

• Payments are taken by Razorpay. Your card or UPI details go to them, never to us.
• Subscriptions renew by themselves until you stop them. Your bank or UPI app authorises this once, at the start.
• You can cancel any time, from your bank or UPI app or by writing to us. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not refund the current period.
• The price you signed up at stays the price you pay. If we change prices, it applies to new subscriptions — we will not quietly re-bill you at a new rate.
• Prices include applicable Indian taxes.

Refunds

If the app does not work on your phone and we cannot fix it, write to us within seven days of paying and we will refund that period. Beyond that we do not refund unused time, because you could have cancelled.

What it needs to do its job

AI Frnd asks for the microphone, contacts, phone, camera, notifications and Android's accessibility service. The accessibility service is the significant one: it is what lets the app press things and read the screen for you. It is used only to carry out what you asked. What each permission is for, and what we do with what it produces, is set out in the privacy policy.

Using it sensibly

Do not use AI Frnd to:

• break the law, or harass, deceive or defraud anybody;
• place calls or send messages in bulk, or to people who have not asked to hear from you;
• get at somebody else's phone or accounts without their knowledge;
• pull the app apart to rebuild or resell it.

We can suspend an account being used this way.

What we do not promise

• That it always hears you. Speech recognition is imperfect, more so in a noisy room, more so again in Telugu.
• That your phone lets it run. Many Android phones aggressively close background apps. We work around what we can and cannot promise more.
• That every phone behaves the same. Some manufacturers block things the app would otherwise do.
• Uninterrupted service. Sign-in and payments need our servers, and servers have bad days.

The app is provided as it is, without warranties beyond those Indian law gives you and does not allow us to exclude.

Where our responsibility ends

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for a call that was not placed, a reminder that did not arrive, or a command misheard — including where that matters. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

Ending it

Stop whenever you like: cancel the subscription and uninstall the app. We may end an account that breaks these terms, or if we stop offering the service — in which case we will refund the unused part of what you paid.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will say so in the app before it takes effect, and carrying on using AI Frnd after that means you accept it.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Hyderabad, Telangana have jurisdiction.
